Greys Green Golf Course is still often called The Dog Golf Course, as it all started in Dog Field on Greys Green Farm
2002 - The final push
In 2002, we took the great leap forward and expanded the golf playing area south of Dog Lane
This enabled us to increase the number of holes on offer to 36: the 9-hole course par 3 course (formerly called the blue course but now the white course with white flags) the long 9-hole course (blue course with blue flags) and the full 18-hole course(red course with red flags)
In 2003, Maurice Day submitted our planning application P03/E0547/RET to SODC, requesting to be permitted to continue to play golf over this enlarged area
Maurice put up a great fight on our behalf but failed to prevail against the SODC powers that be (or were then)
SODC refused this application in June 2004 Our Appeal against this refusal was taken on by Pegasus Planning Group, who succeeded at yet another Public Inquiry (our third) in 2007
